Perinatal Process Circles for moms and caregivers in Kitsap County
A small circle. One hat at a time.
In these circles, you get to be a person for a while, not only a mom or caregiver. You can reflect on motherhood and parenting without having to actively parent at the same time.
You don't have to rush it or force it into something it isn't. Maybe this circle becomes your people. Maybe it doesn't, and that's okay too. Either way, you'll leave with practice in making the connections you do have more satisfying and meaningful, even within the limits of this season.
Serving: Poulsbo · Bainbridge Island · Silverdale · Bremerton · Port Orchard · Kingston · Indianola and surrounding communities

Forming as needs arise
New circles take shape around what local moms and families are asking for. Topics, timing, and format follow the group's needs.
Mother circles. Kid-free gatherings to slow down, share what's real, and be met by other moms and caregivers in the same season.
Baby and Me touchpoints. Simple, facilitated conversations with little ones in tow, on things like sleep, feeding, identity, and relationships.
Tell me what you'd come to, and I'll let you know when a circle forms.

What to expect
five backyard Thursdays for moms of young kids
This is a small, five-week experiment: a backyard bonfire process circle held once the farmers market wraps up for the season. Think less workshop, more fireside conversation with a perinatal psychotherapist in the circle.
The rhythm. Five Thursdays, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., Oct 22 through Nov 19. Same cozy (imperfect!) backyard, a different theme or prompt each week.
How it's held. I'll facilitate as a mom who happens to be a perinatal psychotherapist, but this isn't therapy. It's a process circle. Real questions, real listening, no need to perform “fine.”
Who's in the circle. Kept small, by referral only. You're getting this because someone thought of you. Pass it on if it's not for you.
What to bring. Dress for the weather. We're outside by the fire with an overhang. Bring a mug if you'd like tea, and a blanket or chair if that helps you settle in.
Investment. Donation-based, pay what you can. No one is turned away for what they can or can't give.
After the five weeks. My hope: something here is transferable. The circle, or pieces of it, can keep meeting on your own once these five weeks end.
Common questions
-
Never. You choose your level of openness. Listening counts, silent does too, and so does going second.
-
That's okay. You'll still leave with tools for deepening the relationships you already have, and with a little more of yourself back.
-
Most circles and retreats are kid-free on purpose, so you can wear one hat at a time, unless a circle specifically says little ones are encouraged. If you're unsure, please ask!
-
Circles and retreats are therapeutic and facilitated by a licensed perinatal psychotherapist, but they aren't a replacement for individual therapy. For deeper one-on-one support, I also offer virtual psychotherapy.
