Rates & FAQ · Private pay & out-of-network perinatal therapy
Everything you’d want to know before starting.
I work with mothers, gestational parents, and caregivers somewhere on the journey: considering, pursuing, grieving, or juggling parenthood, and wanting to feel like themselves again. Thresholds is a private pay practice, and many clients use their out-of-network benefits to get part of each session reimbursed. Every new client starts with a trial period of four weekly sessions, so you can feel how we work together. After that, we'll choose a rhythm that fits together and schedule as you go.
Take a look at the questions below before booking. And if something isn't answered here, please ask. I'd be glad to help!
The investment
An investment in you that ripples outward.
Therapy is an investment in you, and it doesn't stop with you. When you're more grounded, your partner, your kids, your family, and the world around you feel it, too. That's worth it.

Your first session together · 53 minutes, virtual

Sliding scale
Limited spots
I hold a limited number of sliding scale spots. If you’re interested, please ask!
If my sliding scale spots are full, I’ll gladly point you to the wonderful reduced-rate program at Shelterwood Collective. Money shouldn’t be the reason you go without support.

My model
Start by setting up a “trial.”
Therapy is a relationship, and it deserves a real chance to fit. So every new client starts with a short trial before we talk about anything longer term.
1.
Free clarity call.
20 minutes to ask your questions, get a feel for my personality, clarify what support you need, and review logistics: rates, scheduling, and out-of-network benefits.
2.
Intake paperwork.
Complete your intake forms online before our first session, at whatever pace works between naps and school pickups.
3.
Four weekly sessions.
Session 1: we get to know your story, including your health history. Sessions 2 and 3: we focus on your supports and “try on” a few approaches to see what helps.
4.
Decide together.
In session 4, we check in on our fit and choose next steps together: ongoing, schedule-as-you-go care, or help getting connected with more specialized support.
Why moms and caregivers love the trial period
Feel what therapy with me is like before a longer commitment
A natural stopping point, with no cancellation fees and no awkward goodbye
If we're not the right fit, I'll share 3 quality referrals who may be a better direction
How the trial improves outcomes
Your nervous system gets time to feel safe with me and how I work
We check that my approach fits your goals and needs right now
Trust builds slowly, with you in the driver's seat, so the process never feels retraumatizing
Want to use your insurance?
Use your out-of-network benefits, the easy way.
I use Thrizer as my payment platform. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, Thrizer can check what you're likely to get back, estimate your out-of-pocket investment per session, and submit eligible claims for you after each session.
No faxing superbills. No hold music. Just a clearer picture of what your investment will actually look like.
I offer private-pay sessions, and we'll agree on the fee and payment details before any billing. If you have out-of-network benefits, we can help estimate your session cost and arrange claim submission for eligible sessions. Your insurer decides the final reimbursement. Some clients qualify to pay an estimated amount upfront instead of the full session fee. We'll check whether this option is available to you and explain its costs and final-payment terms. You can check an estimate before your intake here.
Why go out-of-network?
The freedom to choose the support that truly fits you, like a certified perinatal therapist who might not be in your network
More control over your care, with no insurer deciding how many sessions you get
Fewer headaches with prior authorizations and denials
How it works with Thrizer
Check your benefits. Enter your insurance and date of birth in the tool below for a real-time estimate, no phone call to your insurer needed.
Talk it through. We'll review your estimate on your clarity call and confirm your rate.
Let Thrizer file for you. After each session, Thrizer submits eligible claims. Depending on your plan, you may qualify to pay only your estimated share upfront, or you'll be reimbursed by check or bank transfer.
Check your benefits now
It takes about a minute. You'll see your remaining deductible, coinsurance, and an estimate of what you'd get back per session.

Estimates come straight from your insurance plan, but your insurer makes the final call, so reimbursement isn't guaranteed. Your out-of-pocket investment depends on your plan. Thrizer lists its current fees on its pricing page.

Adults in Washington who identify as mothers and gestational parents, somewhere on the journey: considering, pursuing, grieving, or juggling. Many come to me after parental leave ends, when the formal supports fall away. Professional helpers and caregivers of all kinds tend to jive with me, too.

Your first (intake) session is $275, and subsequent sessions are $250. All sessions are 53 minutes. I also hold a limited number of sliding scale spots. If you're interested, please ask!

I'm a private pay therapist, out-of-network with all insurance companies. I use Thrizer, which can estimate your benefits and submit eligible out-of-network claims for you after each session. No chasing paperwork. Check your benefits in the Insurance section above. If out-of-network still doesn't fit your budget, ask about a sliding scale spot.

Right now, I offer sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, starting at 9, 10, or 11 a.m. Depending on interest and my seasonal schedule, other weekday mornings or afternoons, and select Fridays, may open up. If you're curious, just ask. Folks typically schedule a couple of weeks in advance, and you can check current availability under “Request Appointment” on my Connect page. Weekly sessions are generally required for the first month.

Life with little ones happens, and I understand. I also hold this time just for you, so I ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. To honor the human in both of us, your first late cancellation is on me. After that, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are billed at 75% of your session rate ($187.50), and missed sessions without notice are billed at the full rate ($250). If we can find another time that works for both of us that same week, I'm happy to waive the fee. And if you experience a death in your family or close circle, please just take care of yourself and reach out when you can.

Individual sessions are virtual, anywhere in Washington State. Process circles and Matrescence Mini Retreats meet in person.
-
Individual therapy is for your own story: anxiety, identity, boundaries, your past. Process circles and retreats are for connection and community. Many moms and caregivers do both. We'll figure it out together on your clarity call.

Anyone from trying to conceive through pregnancy, loss, birth, postpartum, and the early parenting years. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit. Wanting support is enough.
-
Book a free clarity call through the How to Get Started page. If we both feel good about it, I'll send your intake paperwork.

Moms, parents, and caregivers who want steady, sustainable progress and support before they hit empty. Many describe themselves as sensitive, intuitive, creative, curious, high-achieving, or soulful, and many are service providers and natural helpers just learning to put their own oxygen mask on first.
-
Yes, I hold a limited number of sliding scale spots. If you're interested, please ask, and we'll talk it through together. Each December, we'll have a gentle conversation together about what feels fitting for the year ahead. When those spots are full, I'm glad to point you to the reduced-rate program at Shelterwood Collective.

Then we start there. Everything is fair game in therapy, including the worry that you won't have enough to say. And if somewhere along the way you started believing you're boring, or that your stuff isn't “big enough” for therapy, that's actually a rich place to begin.
-
Mostly, no, and that's on purpose. I'm not here to hand you a script for your life. I'll stay with you as you ask the hard questions, offer new ways of seeing what's happening, and help you hear your own wisdom more clearly, so the answers come from the inside out. (A little cheesy. Also true.) No homework, either. Our time is a place to hear yourself think, and to hear the echoes of your more grounded self, the one that remembers what matters to you far more deeply than the call of the next nap.

Postpartum, less really is more most of the time. But not all “more” is created equal. Yes, therapy is one more thing on the calendar, and it can feel like it adds to the load. It also tends to lighten it. Ironically, some “more” on your plate is exactly what makes the rest of it easier to carry.
Part of our work is advocating for what actually makes a difference. We'll brainstorm together, look honestly at what feels doable right now, and notice where help may already exist in your circle. Sleep deprivation, stress, and round-the-clock vigilance make it really hard to spot those options, or the mental roadblocks keeping you from reaching for them. Sometimes it takes a second set of eyes.
-
It really depends on you. Some moms and caregivers come for a season, like the months around a birth or a return to work. Others stay for a year or more because they love having a steady place to land. We're all ever-unfolding, so there's always more to discover, but I'll never try to talk you into staying longer than you want. We'll shape the timeline together, starting with the checkpoint at the end of your four-week trial period.
-
Please tell me. Those conversations are often some of the most useful ones we have, and saying it out loud can move the work forward in unexpected ways. Sometimes we'll adjust the approach or the focus. Sometimes it means I'm not your best fit, and I'll share names of therapists who might be. Either way, your growth matters more than my ego.

In a smaller community like ours, it happens more than you'd think: the farmers market, the grocery store, school pickup. To protect your privacy, I won't say hello first. If you want to say hi, I'd love to chat. If you'd rather keep walking, that's completely okay too. It's your call, every time.
